Sean K. Skeete is a distinguished drummer, educator, and academic leader whose artistry and administrative vision have shaped generations of musicians at Berklee College of Music and beyond. Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Sean grew up in a musical family and began playing drums at age three in his father’s church—an environment that nurtured his early passion and grounded his artistic identity. After moving to Boston as a teenager, he joined the Berklee City Music Program and later earned a full scholarship to Berklee, where he refined a versatile musical voice rooted in Caribbean rhythms, jazz, gospel, R&B, soul, and funk.
With more than two decades of performance, recording, and teaching experience, Sean has built a vibrant career defined by musical depth, stylistic fluency, and collaborative excellence. He has performed and/or recorded with renowned artists including Take 6, En Vogue, LoCash, CeCe Winans, Marvin Winans, John Patitucci, Raul Midón, Will Downing, Walter Beasley, Oleta Adams, Edwin Hawkins, Melinda Doolittle, Crystal Aikin, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Pops.
Sean currently serves as the Dean of the Professional Performance Division and Interim Chair of the Brass Department at Berklee, where he has been an educator and administrator for more than 20 years. Before becoming Dean, he served as Chair of the Ensemble Department, helping shape Berklee’s performance curriculum and pedagogical direction.

As a faculty member, Sean teaches ensembles and private instruction focused on Afro-Caribbean drumming, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, funk, and modern groove traditions. He is also a sought-after clinician who has led workshops across the United States, the Caribbean, Latin America, and beyond.
