John Crigler is currently a doctoral student in jazz studies at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. He earned a M.M. in jazz studies from Georgia State University where he studied with Geoffrey Haydon and acDvely parDcipated in both the classical piano and jazz programs. Prior to moving to Atlanta, he lived for two years in Normandy, France, where he aIended the Conservatoire de Caen and acDvely engaged with musicians from the area. Originally from Washington state where he earned a bachelor’s degree in classical piano, he acDvely researches the parallels in harmony between 20th century French music and jazz, especially post-bop.
