Jazz Pianist/ Composer Monika Herzig is the Professor of Artistic Research and Vice Rector for Diversity and Internationalization at the Jam Music Lab Private University in Vienna and author of David Baker - A Legacy in Music (IU Press, 2011), Experiencing Chick Corea: A Listener's Companion (Rowman and Littlefield, 2017) and co-editor of the Routledge Volume Jazz and Gender (2022). She is also the head of the research committee for the Jazz Education Network and founder of JAZZ (Jazz Education in Research and Practice, IU Press) and co-founder of ARJAZZ (Journal of Artistic Research in Jazz, Research Catalogue). She leads the all female Supergroup Monika Herzig's Sheroes, and her forthcoming album Transparent is a Jazz Road Creative Residency Project. Her Talking Jazz radio show and podcast can be heard on WICR, WETF, and all podcast services.
